It identifies elite talent through a national selection process, narrowing hundreds of applicants down to the Top 48, and after the first round of evaluations the field is narrowed down to the Top 20, The Top 10 drivers receive a custom Petty Performance Edge drivers uniform. After another round of evaluations, the field is narrowed down to the Top 4 with those drivers going to a shootout event at Millbridge Raceway judged by Chad Boat, and ultimately Top 2 winners get to race in the Tulsa Shootout in cars provided by Chad Boat. These finalists earn their spot in the prestigious Tulsa Shootout, along with testing opportunities and Petty Performance Racing support.
Jerry Petty is the visionary team owner and founder of Petty Performance Racing, a powerhouse in USAC sprint car and midget racing. With a unique racing story—growing up at tracks like Manzanita Speedway—Jerry has achieved historic milestones, including being the first owner to win both the USAC AMSOIL National and USAC CRA Sprint Car titles in the same year. His passion for developing young talent led to the creation of the EDGE program, where he personally selects drivers who embody hard work, skill, and character. Jerry's commitment extends to community events like the BC39 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Cornbelt Classic at Knoxville and his most cherished sponsorship of the Western World Championships at the Central Arizona Raceway. As a mentor, he emphasizes holistic growth, drawing from his own journey to inspire the next generation.

Spotlight Submissions: Top 48 submit videos and teacher recommendations by May 1, 2026.
Report Cards: Submit academic records by June 17, 2026; Top 20 announced on June 26, 2026.
Suit Measurements & Final Evaluations: Top 10 submit by July 17, 2026

Top 2 winners announced December 11, 2026, at USAC Night of Champions; compete in 2027 Tulsa Shootout.
